Granada's Andersen Peters who won the World Athletics Championships with the best throw of 90.54m, breached the 90m mark in three attempts!

However, for India's Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra, it was a tough day at work.

Though the Olympic gold medallist won the silver medal, he had a jittery start to the final event. While the 24-year-old felt, the wind played the spoilsport for him, he praised Peters for acing the challenge.

Chopra who at one point had dropped to the 5th spot in the rankings, in the post-match presentation revealed that the windy conditions in Oregon were not favouring his cause.

Praising the winner, Andersen Peters, Chopra said, 'It was his day, he was able to successfully manage the weather issues, but it can get challenging for any player, like in Olympics it was difficult for Peters'.

However, the Haryana-based athlete added that 2 players cannot be compared as every competition is a different challenge for different players. 'I think 2 players should not be compared and Peters was good he able to manage it, but it was a tough competition and it was a good comeback'.

After a fowl first throw, Chopra, kept getting better in his 2nd and 3rd attempt with 82.39 and 86.37m. Conquering the challenges, Chopra finally aced with an 88.13m throw in the fourth attempt that helped him clinch India's only 2nd medal in the history of the marquee tournament.
