Mayank Yadav Exclusive: IPL's speed sensation shares insights on his blazing pace

In an exclusive interview with Vikram Chandra of Editorji, Mayank Yadav, the fast bowler for Lucknow Super Giants, who has recently captivated the Indian Premier League (IPL) audience with his remarkable performances, delved into the essence of his rapid rise to fame. Known for his blistering pace on the field, Yadav has quickly become a renowned figure among cricket enthusiasts across the nation.

During the conversation, Yadav shed light on his journey towards achieving such raw speed in his bowling. He attributed his success not only to his innate talent but also to the relentless dedication and hard work he has invested in honing his skills. "I think I have a natural ability to bowl pace but that's not just it, to groom the pace, one has to do hard work and I have done a lot of hard work to increase my pace," Yadav revealed, offering a glimpse into the rigorous process behind his fast bowling.

Furthermore, Yadav reflected on the progression of his speed over the years. Initially entering the IPL with the capability of hitting speeds around 150-151 kph, he was encouraged by his seniors and coaches that maturity and strength would naturally enhance his pace. "When I first came to the IPL, I hardly used to bowl at 150-151 kph and my seniors and coaches told me that as I grow older, I will also get stronger and my pace will increase. I am just 21 at the moment and I hope my bowling speed will increase even further," he stated, indicating his potential for further growth.

When probed about his aspirations to surpass Shoaib Akhtar's record of 161 kmph, the fastest recorded speed in cricket, Yadav maintained a measured stance, saying, "Maybe, maybe not." This response hints at his ambition while acknowledging the monumental challenge of breaking such a historic record.
