When Virat Kohli & Sachin Tendulkar met Queen Elizabeth II

Britain’s longest reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 at the Balmoral Castle. The news broke only hours after ex-India captain Virat Kohli notched up his elusive ton in the shortest format of the game against Afghanistan in Asia Cup 2022. The prolific batter once had the chance to meet the Queen, the monarch who marked 70 years on the throne this year.

Before the 2019 World Cup began in England, the Queen invited the captains of the 10 participating nations. virat Kohli, alongside the other captains, was invited to the Buckingham Palace before the tournament's opening ceremony in May 2019.

Apart from him, legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also had the chance to meet the Queen. Sachin Tendulkar along with Pakistan's Moin Khan and Zimbabwe's Heath Streak had an interaction with the Queen, when Buckingham Palace in London hosted a reception for the cricketers in June 1999, before the World Cup began.
