Sundar left the Indian squad which is currently practicing in Kolkata to report to the National Cricket Academy on Tuesday. He will stay there for the next 3 weeks. KL Rahul and Axar Patel will also miss the series.

IND VS WI: Washington Sundar to miss T20 series, Kuldeep Yadav takes his place

Washington Sundar who recently returned after a long hiatus due to injury will miss India's 3 match T20 series against West Indies due to another injury woe, announced BCCI on Monday.

As per BCCI's release, the left-arm spinner suffered a left hamstring muscle strain during fielding in the 3rd ODI. Further, the Indian board announced that Kuldeep Yadav will replace him in the upcoming series which is set to begin on Wednesday.

Over the past few months, Sundar has been out of action due to his injuries. He first suffered a finger injury during IPL and after recovering from that he contracted Covid-19 due to which he could not participate in South Africa's tour of India.

The 22-year-old left the Indian squad which is currently practicing in Kolkata to report to the National Cricket Academy on Tuesday. He will stay there for the next 3 weeks. While Patel is under rehabilitation after recovering from Covid-19, the vice-captain is nursing a hamstring strain that he suffered during the 2nd ODI.
