IND VS SA, 1ST T20I: India's 12-match unbeaten streak comes to an end

India's 12-match unbeaten streak came to an end on Thursday night as South Africa overcame Rishabh Pant-led side by 7 wickets in a high-scoring encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Chasing a mammoth 212-run target, South Africa lost their captain Temba Bavuma early. But Quinton de Kock and pinch hitter Dwaine Pretorius stitched a counter-attacking 50-run stand to raise South Africa's hopes. India though clawed their way back into the game with two quick wickets. However, David Miller had a different plan as he went hammer and tongs from the first ball. Along with Rassie van der Dussen, Miller stitched an unbeaten 131-run partnership to take the Proteas home with 5 balls to spare.

Put in to bat, Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad stitched a 51-run opening stand. After Gaikwad's wicket, Kishan continued his power-hitting and went on to score a 48-ball 76. With the platform set for a late flourish, captain Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya sent South African bowlers for a leather hunt in the death overs. Their onslaught propelled India to a massive 211-4 in 20 overs.
