Babar Azam broke Kohli's record to become the fastest to score 1000 runs in the ODI format as a captain

Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam broke yet another record of Virat Kohli after scoring a century against the West Indies at Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Pakistan won the match comfortably by 5 wickets.

The 27-year old scored 103 off 107 balls against the West Indies and is now the first batter in ODI history to score 3 consecutive centuries twice and also became the fastest cricketer to reach the 1000-run mark in ODIs as a captain.

With this record, Babar broke Kohli's record to become the fastest to score 1000 runs in the ODI format as a captain. Kohli took 17 innings to reach the milestone while Babar took only 13 innings.

Earlier, the Pakistan skipper slammed three successive centuries in 2016 against West Indies. Babar scored 114 and 105* in the last two innings against Australia.

The ODI's world No.1 batter has scored 4364 runs in 87 matches with 17 centuries.
