Babar Azam leaps past Virat Kohli with ton against England, completes record chase with Rizwan

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam silenced his critics in the best way possible, smashing a brilliant century at the National Stadium in Karachi. Babar's ton, coupled with Rizwan's scintillating knock guided the Men in Green to a 10-wicket win against England in their 2nd T20I.

Babar Azam (110 off 66 ) and Rizwan (88 off 51) both finished unbeaten as their 203-run partnership gave Pakistan an easy win on the night.

The duo also made records on the way, completing the biggest-ever run chase in a 10-wicket win by any side in T20Is till date.

Babar also became the 2nd fastest batsman to score 8000 T20 runs, leapfrogging Virat Kohli while achieving the feat. The Pakistani skipper has accomplished the total in just 218 innings while Kohli took 243 innings to get there. Chris Gayle sits atop that list with 213 innings.

Babar, whose form was under the scanner after a string of low scores during the Asia Cup, was delighted to play an important knock for his side.

"I always had the belief (during the run of low scores), and you need that as a sportsman. The team always supported me and kept backing me," Babar said at the post-match presentation.
