Starc, Boland Wreck West Indies as Australia Complete Series Sweep

Mitchell Starc produced a sensational spell, taking 6 wickets for just 9 runs, while Scott Boland claimed a hat-trick as Australia bundled out the West Indies for 27 runs — the second-lowest total in Test history — to win the third Test by 176 runs at Sabina Park.

The West Indies narrowly avoided the all-time lowest score in Test cricket (26) due to a late misfield.

Starc delivered the fastest five-wicket haul in Test history, achieving it within just 15 balls, and finished with his 15th five-wicket haul in Tests. He struck with the very first ball of the innings and completed a triple-wicket maiden in that over.

The collapse was complete in just 14.3 overs in this historic day-night Test, giving Australia a 3-0 series whitewash and the Frank Worrell Trophy.

“It’s been a fantastic series with tough batting conditions,” Starc said. He celebrated multiple milestones — claiming his 400th Test wicket in his 100th match. “It’s been very enjoyable. I’ll go home with a smile.”

Australia had already sealed the series with wins by 159 runs in Barbados and 133 runs in Grenada. While Starc missed out on a hat-trick, Boland completed his to add the final flourish to a dominant bowling performance.
