Guilty of overeating? Fret not, scientists have found an easy trick to reduce food consumption.

According to a study published in the Food Quality and Preference journal, cutting food into small pieces and scattering it across a dish can actually trick your brain into thinking you’re eating much more.

This trick may help as most people’s meals are dictated by portion size rather than how full they feel.

Researchers tested the theory with a small number of participants and concluded that plating your food in the right manner is the best hack to avoid overeating.
