What is the perfect time to have breakfast and why it is the most important meal of the day

Wondering when is the best time for breakfast and what is the ideal first meal of the day? Here is what experts say!

What is the perfect time to have breakfast and why it is the most important meal of the day

Timing is super important and more so when it comes to the first meal of the day. Breakfast is the most supreme meal of the day and there are no two ways. What you eat and when you eat breakfast, determines your metabolism, productivity and even your blood sugar.

According to experts, one should consume breakfast within one hour of waking up which helps keep the metabolism high and prevents muscle loss. It also prevents you from getting midday cravings, which in turn helps with weight management.

What constitutes a perfect breakfast?

So, what constitutes a perfect breakfast? According to experts, a perfect breakfast includes a good balance of proteins such as eggs, paneer, low-fat yoghurt, low GI carbs, healthy fat and fibres. You can opt for a simple meal of egg /chicken/paneer sandwich with carrot sticks or you can go for a bowl of upma or oats and combine it with a sunny side up. Alternatively, you can choose red rice poha, protein powder and nuts such as almonds and walnuts, for a balanced meal.

What not to include in breakfast?

However, one must ensure to not indulge in processed or packaged food including fruit juices with high sugar content. Consuming coffee on an empty stomach is not the best idea and one must definitely avoid simple carbs like rice and maida. Instead of sugary juices, switch to vegetarian smoothies for a much healthier experience.
