Keeps sodium levels in check

Like too much sodium, too low sodium is equally unhealthy. So, consuming even a small amount of rock salt with meals balances level of sodium in our body.

Provides electrolytes

Fasting might cause electrolyte imbalance in the body causing cramps and weakness. As sendha namak contains various electrolytes, it may help relieve such health issues.

Helps in digestion

According to Ayurveda, sendha namak helps with digestive issues like bloating, indigestion and gastric problems caused due to fasting.

Treats sore throat

Gargling with rock salt soothes pain and soreness in throat. Studies have proven it effective and is recommended by organizations like the American Cancer Society.
