Security Breach: Vehicle Enters Kerala CM's Convoy, 5 Arrested

Kozhikode, Kerala, Jun 30 (PTI): In a recent security breach, five individuals were taken into custody after their vehicle unexpectedly entered the high-security convoy of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The incident occurred on Sunday night around 10 pm near Elathur, as the Chief Minister was en route to the government guest house.

Despite being warned three times to maintain distance, the vehicle infiltrated the convoy, prompting police intervention. Officers successfully intercepted the vehicle at West Hill Chungam, subsequently detaining all five passengers for questioning.

Upon investigation, the detained men claimed they were electrical workers commuting from Kannur to Palakkad. According to the police, the individuals hail from the districts of Kannur, Malappuram, and Palakkad, and possess no prior criminal records.

Although they were initially held in preventive custody, all five men were later granted release on station bail.
