Punjab governor administers oath to PPSC Chairman and Chief Information Commissioner

Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, administered the oath of office to Jatinder Singh Aulakh and Inderpal Singh, appointed as the Chairman of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and State Chief Information Commissioner, respectively on Monday at the Punjab Raj Bhawan.

Aulakh, a distinguished 1997-Batch IPS officer, brings 33 years of experience in the Punjab Police to his new role. Hailing from Village Bargari (Faridkot), he held various key positions during his career, including Commissioner of Police in Amritsar and Ludhiana. Notably, the new PPSC Chairman received several accolades, including the 'National Award (Special)' and 'Police Medal for Distinguished Services.'

Eminent Advocate Inderpal Singh, a prominent figure in the legal sector, also took the oath as Chief Information Commissioner. His illustrious career includes serving as Senior Additional Advocate General Punjab and standing counsel for the British High Commission.

The ceremony, conducted by Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Verma, witnessed the presence of dignitaries, including Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora, Bram Shanker Jimpa, and Gurmeet Singh Khudian. The occasion marked a significant step in reinforcing the leadership of key positions within the state administration.
