Punjab budget: govt announces 1,000 sports nurseries in all districts

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema presented a budget estimate for the financial year 2024-25. This will be the third budget of the Aam Aadmi Party's government. The total budget for this financial year is Rs 204918 crore.

Punjab Budget allocated Rs 272 crore for Sports and Youth Services in FY 2024-25. The government announced 1,000 sports nurseries in all districts of the state. AAP Government Rs 50 crore for sports nurseries.

"We propose to establish 1,000 sports nurseries for approx. 60,000 sportspersons aged between 6 to 17 years in all districts of Punjab. In the first phase, 250 sports nurseries are being established with proper coaching and availability of sports equipment to players, for which an initial outlay of ₹50 crore is proposed in FY 2024-25," announced Finance Minister Harpal Cheema.
