Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the recent attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, emphasizing that Mumbai remains the safest city despite isolated incidents.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the recent attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, asserting that Mumbai's law and order cannot be judged by a few isolated incidents.

Fadnavis emphasized that the city remains the safest place. His comments followed the attack on Khan early Thursday, which left the actor injured.

"Police have given you all details regarding this. What kind of attack is this? What is actually behind this, and what was the intention behind the attack? is all before you," the CM said while speaking to the media.

He added, "Mumbai is the safest place, and there is no doubt about it. Just based on one or two incidents, it won’t be right to say that Mumbai is unsafe. At the same time, it is also correct that if any such kind of incident happens, we should take it seriously and act accordingly and keep Mumbai safe."

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan's team issued a statement confirming that the actor is in stable condition and recovering after undergoing surgery.

"Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery, and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe, and the police are investigating the incident," the statement read.

The actor's team also expressed gratitude to the medical staff, saying, "We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Leena Jain, and the team at Lilavati Hospital. Thank you to all his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and thoughts during this time."

Dixit Gedam, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 9, Mumbai Police, spoke to the media, revealing that the attack seemed to be motivated by burglary.

"It has been discovered that the accused used the fire escape to enter their house. So far, the investigation suggests that it was an attempted burglary. We are making every effort to arrest the accused as soon as possible. Once he is arrested, we will be able to disclose further details," Gedam explained.

He also mentioned that one suspect had been identified, stating, "One accused has been identified. He used the staircase to enter, and teams are in the field to arrest him. There are 10 detection teams working in different directions."

The attack took place at Saif Ali Khan's residence in the 'Satguru Sharan' building in Bandra, where an intruder reportedly confronted Khan's maid. When Saif attempted to intervene and defuse the situation, the altercation turned physical.

As a result, Khan sustained several injuries and was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital for medical attention. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that Saif was admitted to the hospital at around 3 am on Thursday.

According to the hospital's statement, Saif Ali Khan suffered six stab wounds, two of which were deep, with one located near his spine. A foreign object was also discovered near the actor's spine during medical examination.

Meanwhile, an investigation team arrived at the residence of Saif to carry out the probe over the attack on the actor. The authorities are intensifying their efforts to understand the circumstances of the incident, gather evidence, and identify any other potential suspects.

The team's visit in the ongoing probe seeks to uncover details regarding the motive and nature of the attack on the actor.
