All India Radio station to begin soon in Ujjain: MP CM Mohan Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that in-principle approval has been granted for establishing an All India Radio (Akashvani) station in Ujjain.

The announcement follows a meeting with Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Dr. Yadav had requested the Union Minister to expedite the commencement of the Akashvani centre, citing the upcoming Simhastha 2028 as a significant event requiring timely infrastructure readiness. Responding to the appeal, Dr. Murugan assured full support and stated that the necessary procedures would be initiated.

Until the Ujjain studio is ready, broadcasts will be facilitated through the Indore Akashvani centre.

High-Tech Rail Coach Manufacturing Plant Coming to Raisen

After meeting various Union Ministers, CM Dr. Yadav informed the media that the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art rail coach manufacturing facility by BEML Limited (a Government of India undertaking) will soon be laid in Raisen district.

The project, involving an investment of approximately ₹1,800 crore, is being implemented with the support of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the Ministry of Railways, and the Ministry of Defence.

“CM Dr. Yadav said he has invited Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh to lay the foundation stone and held detailed discussions on the importance of the plant.” The state government has allotted around 60 hectares of land for the factory, which is expected to create employment opportunities for nearly 1,500 individuals and establish Raisen as a key location in India’s rail coach production network.

Major Push for Renewable Energy in Madhya Pradesh

Dr. Yadav also shared updates on the state’s ongoing efforts in the renewable energy sector, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is actively implementing projects in solar, wind, and pumped storage energy.

“Madhya Pradesh is currently the only state in the country supplying electricity at the lowest rates, which even powers the Delhi Metro,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that plans are in place to install solar panels for 32 lakh farmers, enabling them to generate their own electricity — a move expected to relieve the state of nearly ₹18,000 crore in subsidy expenditure. The initiatives are being implemented under all three categories (A, B, and C) of the PM-KUSUM scheme.

In a meeting with Union Minister for Renewable Energy Shri Pralhad Joshi, Dr. Yadav discussed ongoing developments and conveyed optimism regarding future progress.

He noted, “The upcoming solar parks with a total capacity of 4,200 MW will mark a significant milestone in the state’s renewable energy journey.” He also mentioned that collaboration with Uttar Pradesh is underway to jointly develop 2,000 MW of solar energy, with a six-monthly agreement for mutual power exchange.
