Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover have reunited for ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ after a 7-year gap, delighting fans with their chemistry.

Recently, the pair, who shared a flight for a promotional event, playfully referenced their infamous 2017 fallout. Taking to Instagram, Kapil Sharma posted a picture from the flight with the caption, ‘Don't worry guys, it's a small flight.’

The caption referred to their past altercation on a flight from Australia to India, where reports suggested Kapil had thrown a shoe at Sunil. After the incident, Sunil ended his association with Kapil and left ‘The Kapil Sharma Show.’

Their friend and former cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina, along with Arti Chabaria and many others, responded with laughing emojis to the post.

Sunil-Kapil downplay past controversy

During the promotion of their new show, Sunil and Kapil downplayed their past controversy.

In an interview with Lallantop, Sunil dismissed their infamous fight as a mere ‘publicity stunt’.

Sunil Grover joked that the fight was pre-planned during a flight when they heard about Netflix's arrival in India. He also humorously mentioned Netflix India's involvement in the idea.

‘We were seated on the flight and we learnt that Netflix was coming to India. So, kuch aisa ho ke (acha) publicity stunt ho,’ Sunil said.

About ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’

Sunil is reprising his role as Guththi in the show once again, and fans have consistently showered him with love whenever he has portrayed the character.

‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ made its debut on Netflix on March 30. The show's first guests were the Kapoor siblings, Ranbir and Riddhima, with their mother and veteran actress Neetu Kapoor. The trio spoke about the late Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir's bond with his daughter Raha, and a few revelations from their childhood.

In the episode, Sunil's character Guththi was also upset with Ranbir for having married Alia Bhatt.

In the last episode, cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer were seen on the show. The two had a ball of a time.
