Watch: SS Rajamouli bags Best Director Award for 'RRR' at New York Film Critics Circle

'RRR' starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR has won hearts all across the globe. The film became a major success, both critically and commercially. Now, after garnering many prestigious awards, SS Rajamouli has added another to his list after winning Best Director at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2022.

Rajamouli thanked the jury and the audience for supporting his film in his acceptance speech. 'You have made a lot of people take notice of a small film in South of India', he said. He also recalled seeing the faces of the audience during his film’s release. 'It was pure joy of awe. That is what I want my audiences to feel,' he added.

RRR has also been nominated for two Golden Globe awards. The magnum opus has been nominated in the Best Foreign Film category and its song 'Naatu Naatu' has been nominated in the Best Original Song category. Rajamouli and the lead actors will attend the Golden Globe awards ceremony in Los Angeles on January 11.

The film also stars 'Alia Bhatt' and 'Ajay Devgn'. The film was released in theatres in March last year and collected over ₹1200 crore worldwide.
