Teja Sajja's ‘HanuMan’ has emerged as the first hit of 2024. This superhero film, directed by Prasanth Varma, collected Rs 14.50 crore on its fourth day, according to the trade tracking website Sacnilk.

‘HanuMan’ continues to perform strongly both in India and globally, drawing family audiences. The film has amassed a total domestic gross of Rs 55.15 crore, with its worldwide box office earnings reaching Rs 72.15 crore.

Teja Sajja's film has surpassed Yash's ‘KGF: Chapter 1’ and Rishab Shetty's ‘Kantara's first Monday haul.
‘KGF’ collected Rs 10.60 on its first Monday while ‘Kantara’ collected Rs 3.7 crore. ‘Hanuman’ had an overall 79.50% Telugu occupancy and 16.50% Hindi occupancy on Monday, January 15, 2024.

In addition to Teja Sajja, the movie features Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty, and Vinay Rai. Set in the fictional village of Anjanadri, ‘HanuMan’ marks the first installment of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
The film experienced an impressive overall Telugu occupancy of 80.11 percent, with the highest being 90 percent in Hyderabad, followed by 72.72 percent in Bengaluru and 67.75 percent in Chennai.

The film’s release clashed with Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, Venkatesh Daggubati’s Saindhav and Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga.

According to film industry tracking expert Ramesh Bala, ‘HanuMan’ created history as it has breached the 3 million dollar mark in North America and is now one of the top ten highest-grossing Telugu films in the US.

Connection with Ram Mandir
At the pre-release event, Megastar Chiranjeevi announced that the filmmakers would contribute Rs 5 from each ticket sale to the construction of Ayodhya's Ram Mandir. In an interview with India Today, the director disclosed that they had donated Rs 14 lakh to the Ram Temple from the film's opening day collection.
