Acclaimed fashion designer Rohit Bal, who has been admitted to Gurugram's Medanta Hospital due to pre-existing medical conditions, remains critical and on ventilator support, according to hospital sources.

‘He is critical and continues to be on ventilator support,’ stated a source from the private hospital.

‘He's slightly improved but still reliant on ventilator support,’ added a close friend speaking to ANI.

In February 2010, Rohit Bal suffered a heart attack, necessitating an emergency angioplasty.

Rohit Bal, aged 62, reportedly battled alcohol addiction, seeking intermittent treatment in rehab. In November last year, his health deteriorated, requiring urgent admission to Medanta Hospital.

Bal is well-known for his designs that appeal to all genders. He launched his career in fashion designing in 1986 when he and his brother founded Orchid Oversea Pvt. Ltd. In 1990, he made his independent collection debut.
