Bhalla, 65, passed away in a private hospital in Mohali, having suffered a brain hemorrhage two days prior.

Expressing his sorrow, Mann visited Bhalla's Mohali residence to honor the memory of the renowned actor.

Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister expressed his grief, noting it as a significant loss for the Punjabi art community, given Bhalla's unforgettable contributions to Punjabi cinema.

Mann also fondly recalled enjoying Bhalla's satirical audio-visual series ‘Chhankata,’ first released in 1988.

Before embarking on his political career, Mann was a comedian himself, and he credited Bhalla with pioneering new paths for Punjabi comedy.

He recollected meeting Bhalla annually at entertainment events organized by Doordarshan.

"He was a lively person," Mann shared.

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan also expressed his sorrow, noting that Bhalla was a gifted comedian who brought joy and laughter to many with his craft.
