‘Leo’: Health disclaimer added in the song ‘Naa Ready’ after complaint against Vijay

The first track of Thalapathy Vijay starrer ‘Leo’, titled ‘Naa Ready’, faced backlash from a section of people for allegedly promoting drugs, smoking, and drinking. An online complaint was filed against Vijay by a social activist named RTI Selvam for allegedly promoting drug use among youngsters.

Now, the makers have added health disclaimers in the song in response to the opposition. All the scenes which feature cigarettes and alcohol will bear the health warning.

However, the makers have not changed lines like ‘Milli ulla ponaa podhum, Ghill Vella varuvaam paaru (The moment alcohol goes inside, Ghilli will come out)’ which faced criticism.

Vijay has faced backlash multiple times for smoking on screen.

Rajya Sabha MP Anbumani Ramadoss had criticised the actor in 2007 when ‘Pokkiri’ was released. In 2011, Vijay faced backlash for smoking scenes in ‘Thuppakki’.

‘Leo’ is all set to release in theatres on October 19. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Menon, and Myskkin in prominent roles.

After ‘Leo’s release, Vijay will team up with Venkat Prabhu for his next. Vijay Thalapathy will also be seen in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’.
