HYBE chairman Bang Si-Hyuk calls ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin 'malicious' in first public statement, deets inside

The feud between BTS parent label HYBE and its subsidiary company ADOR has reached court. HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk made his first statement amid the ongoing tussle during a court hearing.

While the controversy has been going around for a while, this is the first time that the HYBE chairman has spoken out against ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. The man behind the boyband BTS, called Hee Jin a malicious individual. The HYBE founder said, “I understand that some view Min Hee-jin’s actions as highlighting the problems of a multilabel system. However, no matter how sophisticated the system is or how thorough the contracts are, nothing can completely deter human malice. The actions of one malicious individual should not be allowed to damage the system that may have been built over a long time. I believe that this is the strength of our social system, which prevents personal malice and wrongdoing from destroying social institutions and order.”

This statement comes after Hee Jin filed a case to prevent HYBE from using voting rights at ADOR’s upcoming shareholder meeting. HYBE holds 80 per cent shares in ADOR while Min Hee Jin holds around 18 per cent shares. She will likely be removed at the meeting if HYBE exercises its voting rights. In his petition, Bang Si-Hyuk has requested the court to favour HYBE.

ADOR CEO’s fresh allegation against HYBE

Meanwhile ADOR CEO accused HYBE of requesting advance purchase of NewJeans album to surpass aespa’s records. During the hearing, Hee Jin’s representative revealed an email by Hee Jin mentioning HYBE’s suggestion to beat aespa’s first-week sales record. This has led to backlash against HYBE, specially from the aespa fans.

For the unversed, it all began when HYBE detected alleged attempts by its subsidiary ADOR’s CEO to takeover and gain full independence of the company. This was followed by an audit on ADOR CEO and a counter press conference by her.
