Vance Joy’s Concert At Hollywood Bowl Cancelled Due To A Power Outage

The Hollywood Bowl had to cancel its September 8 show due to a power outage.

The venue announced on its website that Vance Joy's concert was called off.

‘Tonight's Vance Joy concert is canceled due to a power outage affecting the Hollywood Bowl and surrounding area,’ the website stated.

‘We apologize for the inconvenience. If a new date is set, tickets for the original date will be valid, and no further action is required from you,’ it added.

The cancellation occurred during a heat wave in Southern California, with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.

At the concert’s 7 p.m. start time, it was still 90 degrees in downtown L.A., which hit a record-high 104 degrees for the day.

UCLA and Woodland Hills also set new temperature records.

LA DWP representatives informed Deadline that a ‘circuit outage’ in Hollywood is causing extended repair times, with no specific timeline for power restoration. The utility’s outage map indicated repairs could be completed by September 10.

The concert featured indie rockers GROUPLOVE and folk-pop group Tiny Habits.

The show was set to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Vance Joy’s debut album, Dream Your Life Away, which includes the hit song “Riptide.” The Australian singer-songwriter was expected to perform tracks from this album along with other songs from his career.
