'One step forward to respecting each and every one,' US President Joe Biden meets BTS

K-pop superband BTS met US President Joe Biden at the White House to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes and other related issues on May 31. The Bangtan Boys also discussed President's recent visit to South Korea.

BTS shared The White House's tweet on their official Twitter handle. In the series of pictures posted by them, the boys looked dapper in black suits with matching ties.

'Everyone has their own history. We hope today is one step forward to respecting and understanding each and every one as a valuable person,' tweeted The White House.

The South Korean band also thanked US President Joe Biden in a tweet. 'Thanks for having us at the White House! It was a huge honor to discuss important issues with @POTUS today. We're very grateful for #BTSARMY who made it all possible,' the band tweeted.

Biden also expressed his gratitude towards the popular band in a tweet. 'It was great to meet with you, @bts_bighit.Thanks for all you’re doing to raise awareness around the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination. I look forward to sharing more of our conversation soon,' he wrote.

Last month, Biden made his first presidential trip to Asia, which included a visit to Seoul and meetings with the newly elected South Korean President, Yoon Suk Yeol.
