Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's highly-publicised defamation trial to be adapted into a feature film

Johnny Depp's defamation trial against former wife Amber Heard went on for six weeks and it was highly publicised. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star won the lawsuit in June after the seven-person jury said that Heard defamed him in the 2018 Washington Post op-ed.

Now, there are reports claiming that their defamation trial has been adapted into a movie, titled 'Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial' and it will debut exclusively on the Tubi streaming service on September 30.

The film stars Mark Hapka as Johnny Depp and Megan Davis as Amber Heard. Melissa Marty will join Hapka and Davis as Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez and Mary Carrig will portray Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft. The film is written by Guy Nicolucci and directed by Sara Lohman.

For unversed, In 2016, Heard filed for divorce and accused Depp of physical abuse during their marriage. Depp denied the accusations and stated that Heard was ‘attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.’ The duo was finally divorced in 2017.
