The 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards were held in Los Angeles. ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ led film nominations at 14 and ‘Abbott Elementary’ lead television nominations with six. 

Critics Choice Awards: ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ wins Best Picture

The 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards were held at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday night. The annual ceremony honoured the year in film and television. A24’s ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ led film nominations at 14, while ABC’s ‘Abbott Elementary’ lead television nominations with six.

‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ won best picture, best original screenplay, best supporting actor for Ke Huy Quan and best director(s) for filmmaking duo Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert).

The directors beat veterans like James Cameron, Baz Luhrmann and Steven Spielberg.
Brendan Fraser won best actor for his role in A24’s ‘The Whale’. Best actress went to ‘Tár‘s Cate Blanchett.

Best supporting actress went to ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ star Angela Bassett.
Chelsea Handler hosted the CW broadcast. Special awards were presented to Janelle Monáe, who received the #SeeHer award, while Jeff Bridges was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
