Country star Garth Brooks faces lawsuit with shocking allegations of sexual assault by his employee

A makeup artist and hairstylist has filed a lawsuit against country music legend Garth Brook. The plaintiff, identified as ‘Jane Roe,’ claims that Brooks raped her at a Los Angeles hotel in 2019. Filed on October 3 in Los Angeles Superior Court, the lawsuit accuses Brooks of sexual assault, battery, and violating California laws protecting against coercion and intimidation.

Beyond the rape allegation, Roe claims Brooks repeatedly groped her and made explicit sexual comments.

Interestingly, before this suit, Brooks had filed a preemptive lawsuit in Mississippi, where he, under ‘John Doe,’ alleged that he was being extorted after refusing to provide a raise and health insurance to the accuser.

Roe’s lawsuit claims Garth Brooks orchestrated the alleged assault, booking only a single suite without separate rooms and insisting no other staff accompany them on the trip.

According to the complaint, leading up to and after the alleged rape, Brooks groped Roe’s breasts whenever he could, forcing her to expose herself and threatening to ‘mess around’ with her. When she refused, Brooks reportedly became visibly angry. The lawsuit describes a near assault where Roe, arriving to do his hair and makeup, found Brooks lying face down in loose shorts, holding his crotch, narrowly escaping further abuse because he was running late.

In 2020, Roe reached a breaking point. In an email, also sent to Brooks’ wife, she stated she could no longer work in an environment with explicit sexual comments. She also revealed that the trauma led her to contemplate suicide.

Roe’s legal team includes Douglas Wigdor, known for representing high-profile plaintiffs, including Cassie Ventura and Julia Ormond, in cases against Sean Combs and Harvey Weinstein, respectively. Brooks has denied the allegations, claiming Roe falsely accused him of sexual misconduct and sought a court order to prevent her from filing a complaint.

A representative for Brooks has not yet commented.
