‘War 2’: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR starrer to hit screens on this date in 2025

Following the triumph of Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif's 'Tiger 3,' anticipation rises for the YRF Spy Universe sequel 'War 2.'

Now, the creators of Ayan Mukerji's 'War 2', starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, have revealed a release date for eager fans. The movie is set to arrive in 2025 during the Independence Day weekend.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on X, ‘#BreakingNews… YRF announces War 2 release date: Independence Day weekend 2025… The sixth film from #YRFSpyUniverse - #War2 - now has a release date… Get ready for mayhem at the #Boxoffice on 14 Aug 2025 [Thursday]… #AyanMukerji directs the film that’s produced by #YRF.’

According to Hindustan Times, sources suggest an expansion of the spy universe with Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone in discussions for roles. Alia is reportedly signed for a female-led YRF film. Sources indicate the possibility of a cameo appearance, aligning with YRF's strategy seen previously with Salman Khan in 'Pathaan' and planned for Shah Rukh Khan in 'Tiger 3,' offering glimpses into characters from their interconnected universe.

The YRF spy universe started with 'Ek Tha Tiger' in 2012 and expanded with 'War' in 2019 and 'Pathaan' in 2023, featuring agents portrayed by Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Shah Rukh Khan. Upcoming in the franchise are 'War 2' and 'Tiger Vs Pathaan.'

About ‘War’

The prequel was directed by Siddharth Anand. It starred Hrithik as a rogue RAW agent, Kabir while Tiger Shroff played Saurabh, a RAW agent turned mole. The film, which also starred Vaani Kapoor, was a massive success at the box office.
