Vishal Jethwa opens up about long gap in work after ‘Mardaani 2’

Vishal Jethwa, who made his debut with ‘Mardaani 2’ also starring Rani Mukerji, spoke about the long gap he faced in work during the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that the period was frustrating but it was not just him or the film industry but the entire world which was going through testing times.

In an interview with Indianexpress.com, the actor also talked about his upcoming movie 'Salaam Venky.' He said, 'Normally such patients survive for 16-17 years but Venkatesh is an exceptional case. Thanks to his will power and positive mindset, he lives his journey for 25 years. And he not only survives but also has the courage to dream and live a big life and do something for his family too. He was mentally strong and makes one wonder why we complain so much in life. That’s why this character is very inspiring; this film is about the relationship of a mother and a son. I feel the relationship that a mother and her child shares has to be the purest form of love and relationship in the world.'

Talking about the Covid-19 pandemic he said, 'I think it was for everyone. Not only the film industry but everyone from every walk of life went through it.' He went on to say that he got many offers after ‘Mardaani 2.’ He also talked about how he was just "soaking in the new phase of his career". The actor said that he spent the Covid-19 pandemic looking at the best debutant actor award he received for ‘Mardaani 2.’

Vishal will be sharing screen space with Kajol in ‘Salaam Venky’ and he also has ‘Tiger 3’ in pipeline.
