Akshay Kumar's latest film 'Sooryavanshi' ended the dry spell at box-office and successfully pulled back audiences to theatres.

In the action film, Akshay Kumar plays ACP Veer Sooryavanshi, chief of the anti-terrorism squad, Mumbai, the role has been receiving rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

But do you know, who Akshay Kumar's inspiration for the role was?

In a interview with The Hindustan Times, Akshay revealed that Joint Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil was his inspiration for the role.

Akshay said he has known the top cop for years, and has been impressed by his work. Akshay called the commissioner "upright" and "on point" and admitted he has not seen a police officer like him.

The actor went on to say that Vishwas was the perfect figure to look up to for his role in Sooryavanshi, though he is tough on the exterior, he is all heart inside, because he does so many good deeds as a part of his duty.

Akshay said, Patil led a team of frontline workers during the recent Covid-19 crisis too. Not just that, he is extremely fit and works hard on his health.

Vishwas Patil was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in South Mumbai zone-1 during the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. The officer led the team at the Taj Hotel, Colaba, Mumbai, on November 26 and shot one of the terrorists.

He was conferred with the President's Police Medal in 2015 for his bravery and duty. He is currently a role model for thousands and has also made headlines for his love for marathons.
