Suniel Shetty reacts to boycott Bollywood trend: 'Can't Put My Finger On A Reason'

Actor Suniel Shetty has opened up about the boycott Bollywood trend which has impacted some of the recently-released films. According to news agency ANI, he was asked about films facing boycott calls on social media at a recent event in Raipur. Agreeing that the Hindi industry is going through a ‘tough time’, he replied that people might not be happy with the type of subject films have these days. He added that people are not coming to the theatres and initially, it felt like a one-off thing, but now he can’t put his finger on a reason why and what this is happening.

Recently, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, and ‘Raksha Bandhan’, starring Akshay Kumar, faced boycott calls and failed to perform well at the box office. Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Vikram Vedha’, which is set to release on September 30, also made it to the boycott list after the former gave a shout-out to ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ in a tweet.

On the work, Suniel Shetty was last featured in Kiran Korrapati-directed Ghani’, which was released on April 8.
