'Liger' box office collection day 1: Vijay Devarakonda-Ananya Panday starrer is off to a ‘strong start’

'Liger’, starring Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Panday, released in theatres this Thursday, and even after facing boycott calls, the Puri Jagannadh directorial is off to a 'strong start'.

Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Pandey were on a promotional spree over the last one month and their efforts seem to have paid off. They have been on multiple city tours, interacted with the audience, and made them aware of what the Puri Jagannadh film stands for. They have come across as honest in their approach towards enticing audiences into theatres.

Ahead of the film's release, Vijay Devarakonda talked about the ongoing boycott trend and said, ‘I talk less like an actor, more like Vijay Deverakonda. I have been an actor for the past five-six years only. If I say something and someone doesn't like it, then we will talk about it. So I said what I thought and I believe there is nothing to be scared of. I wasn't scared when I had nothing. Now I have so much, then why should I be scared? I have my mother's blessing, people's love, god and fire inside me, so whatever happens, I will see to it’
