Shots fired outside Salman Khan's house in Mumbai, investigation underway

Gunshots were fired outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area early on Sunday. At least four rounds were fired outside the Galaxy Apartment, where the actor and his family reside. A preliminary inquiry into the matter revealed that two unidentified bike-borne assailants at around 5 a.m. were spotted outside his residence.

The Bollywood actor, who has Y-plus category security, was at home when the incident took place. The Bandra police have filed a First Information Report. Besides that, local police’s crime branch officials, too, have launched a parallel investigation. The police also informed that the attackers were wearing helmets, adding they were checking CCTV footage from the area to track them down. A team of forensic science experts also reached the site.

This is the second time Salman Khan has been under threat. Earlier, the superstar received death threats in 2023. Mumbai Police had filed an FIR against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar in March 2023 after they allegedly sent the threat via mail to the actor's office. The police, in September 2023, had also reviewed the security outside Khan's house, asking him to be alert.
