‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’ makers release KK’s first track after demise, titled 'Dhoop Paani Bahne De'

The makers of ‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’ have unveiled the first song of the film, titled ‘Dhoop Paani Bahne De.’ It is KK's first song to be released posthumously. The soulful track features Pankaj Tripathi, Neeraj Kabi and Sayani Gupta. Penned by Gulzar, the beautiful lyrics of the song talk about the importance of conserving forests.

As soon as the song was shared by T-series on their official YouTube page, fans reacted on hearing KK’s voice for the first time since his demise and mourned his loss.

Pankaj Tripathi also shared the song on social media, captioned: ‘The magical voice of KK is set to mesmerize you yet again.’

As per an Indian Express report, Gulzar spoke about his collaboration with KK and said that his heart was filled with joy when he came to sing the song for the film. He said it’s a shame that ‘Dhoop Paani Bahne De’ is one of his last songs. ‘It's like he came to say goodbye,’ Gulzar was quoted as saying.

The film, directed by Srijit Mukherji, focuses on the dire effects of urbanization and man-animal conflict. It will release in theatres on June 24.

KK died after performing at Kolkata’s Nazrul Mancha on May 31.
