Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Pathaan’ gets UA Certificate after going through 10 cuts

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ finally receives a UA certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification after going through ten cuts. The cuts include few dialogues and close up shots of lead actor Deepika Padukone.

Final cuts on ‘Pathaan’ were suggested by CBFC and it is now set for its theatrical release. A report was shared by the Central Board of Film Certification on its website in which it is mentioned that three cuts were made to the most controversial song ‘Besharam rang’ which are close up shots of buttocks, side pose (partial nudity), shots and visuals of sensuous dance movements during the lyrics 'Bahut tang kiya' were removed or curtailed and were replaced with suitable shots. It is still unknown that how many seconds have been cut from the song. Also, whether the orange swimsuit that caused huge controversy has been removed or not is not known.

‘Ashok Chakra’ was replaced with ‘Veer Puraskar’ and ‘Mrs. Bharatmata' was made ‘Hamari Bharatmata’. Word ‘RAW’ was changed to 'Hamare' and 'Langde Lulle' was replaced with word ‘Toote Foote'. In thirteen different places, ‘PMO’ was dropped, and ‘PM’ was changed to President or Minister and also ‘KGB’ was replaced with ‘SBU’. Apart from this, the word ‘Scotch’ was replaced with ‘Drink’ and reference of Russia was removed from the film.

Though ‘Pathaan’ is all set for its theatrical release, protests against the film are being massively held in Ahmedabad by Bajrang Dal. Protesters can be seen tearing posters and breaking into a mall causing heavy damage.

The film is directed by Sidharth Anand and also stars John Abraham alongwith Deepika and Shah Rukh. The film will be released on January 25 this year.
