Priyanka Chopra on her career in Hollywood: 'After 10 years, I am doing the kind of roles I want'

Priyanka Chopra is a popular star in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. The actor is currently cherishing motherhood and she keeps her fans updated through delightful posts on social media. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Priyanka opened up about her aspirations and career goals.

She said, ‘I am a high-achiever, I have always been a high achiever. I am someone who is goal oriented. I like challenges, growth, evolution, and knowledge. When you combine all of these things, there is a lot more that I want to do. If I break it down, I have had an incredibly successful career as an actor in India. I have worked with the best filmmakers, and I have done films that I am really really proud of. And now I want to be able to, as an actor, create that body of work in my English language work which is in America.’

Priyanka also got candid about facing failures during her 40s and mentioned, ‘I am 40 now, I think about it my approach to failure, it still hurts, it still stings, I still cry with my family and I really feel very shitty but you know I get up faster, I get up stronger than I would have in my 20s and I think that is now because I’ve built a career where I feel a lot more comfortable about the woman that I have become, the opportunities that I have, the career that I have been able to create, the love and faith, the audience have given me overtime and people who know about me, who care about me, I have had consistent support. You believe in yourself a lot more when you do something for a long time. And yes, off course, from where I started out to now, I’m a very different person and have learnt a lot more.’

Talking about her Hollywood career, Priyanka said, ‘As an actor, I am still new (in the US). After 10 years of working here, I have just about reached the point where I am doing the kind of roles I want to, where I have the kind of credibility within the industry that I have worked really hard for, where I have trust with the partners that I am working with.’

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will next feature in the spy thriller series ‘Citadel’. She also has Farhan Akhtar’s Bollywood film ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ co-starring Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in her kitty.
