Nude photoshoot row: Ranveer Singh tells cops that his nude photo on social media is morphed

Actor Ranveer Singh bared it all as he posed for a leading international magazine, and landed himself into controversy. Several people slammed him for his nude pictures and even an FIR was filed against him stating that he hurt the sentiments of women through his obscene pictures.

However, the actor, who recorded his statement in the case on August 29, told Mumbai Police that one of the photographs shared on social media, which claimed to be a part of his nude photoshoot for Paper magazine, is morphed and doesn’t belong to him.

According to Indian Express, Ranveer claimed that this particular photograph, in which his private parts were allegedly visible, was not part of the seven photographs uploaded by the him on his Instagram account.

Mumbai Police had registered an FIR against Ranveer on July 26 based on this photograph.

The photograph has now been sent to the forensic science laboratory to confirm if it has been morphed. Ranveer Singh will likely get a clean chit if this photograph is actually morphed.

As per the publication, an officer said, ‘In his statement, he has said that the seven photographs he posted on Instagram were not obscene and he was wearing underwear. He added that the photograph in which the complainant had alleged that his ‘private parts were visible’ was morphed and not part of the photoshoot.’

‘He provided us with all the photos taken during the Nude photoshoot. The police team also checked his Instagram posts, which do not have the photograph that was given by the complainant,’ the officer added.
