Karan Johar opens up about how Ajay Devgn ‘graciously’ ended their feud: ‘Kajol warned me…’

Karan Johar hosted Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty on the recent episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 8. During the show, Ajay and Karan addressed their past feud, which had caused a significant rift between them for years. The clash between Ajay’s film ‘Shivaay’ and Karan’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ at the box office had led to a misunderstanding between the two, resulting in a prolonged period of no communication.

During the rapid-fire segment of the show, when Karan asked Ajay about his ‘sworn enemy’ in the film industry, Ajay said, ‘Once upon a time, it was you’ and Karan looked shocked at the revelation.

Addressing their disagreement, Karan recalled that Ajay was ‘gracious’ enough to move past their differences.
‘Whatever the altercation was , and it was misunderstanding, misconception, we didn’t speak, Kajol and I didn’t speak. I’m sure he must have had a troubled time with his own wife because we are such close friends but he really was very gracious. We were in the same studio and I said I want to meet him because he was there and he agreed to meet me immediately,’ Karan revealed.

Karan Johar revealed that when he visited Ajay Devgn's van, the actor immediately suggested avoiding any discussion about their past feud and moving forward.

‘He said ‘let’s not talk about anything. You are close to Kajol. We are one industry and we should…’ And it took a minute for us to go back to normalcy,’ Karan recalled.

Ajay added, ‘It’s a very short life. You can’t… whoever is wrong or right, me, you… doesn’t matter. Just move on.’

Ajay concluded, ‘I think we should never talk about it ever.’ Karan laughed and added, ‘Kajol rang me up and told me, ‘never are you going to release on the same day with my husband’. I said ‘never again’. I said ‘I anyway don’t like to clash and perhaps that was the only time that we did. I said never with Ajay, anybody else, if it happens accidentally, we’ll see, but never with Ajay. That’s a sworn rule’.’
