Jacqueline Fernandez shares a motivational quote after being named as accused in a money laundering case

Jacqueline Fernandez made headlines on Wednesday after she was named as an accused in the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and others. The actor didn’t directly comment on the case, but she re-shared an anonymous motivational quote on her Instagram stories, saying she will remain ‘strong’ in these testing times.

‘Dear me, I deserve all good things, I'm powerful, I accept myself. It'll all be ok. I'm strong, I'll achieve my goals and dreams. I can do it (sic),’ read the post.

Jacqueline has been questioned several times by the ED in this case. In April, the agency provisionally attached ₹7.27 crore funds of the actor under the PMLA apart from ₹ 15 lakh cash as the agency called these funds as ‘proceeds of crime’.

Delhi Police arrested Chandrashekar for allegedly extorting ₹ 215 crore from former promoters of pharmaceutical giant Ranbaxy, Aditi Singh and Shivinder Singh.

Jacqueline’s legal team is expected to counter the charge sheet on the grounds that she was unaware that she was a beneficiary of extortion money.

During the teaser launch of his upcoming film, ‘Dhokha: Round D Corner’, R Madhavan was asked to comment on Jacqueline being named as an accused in the ED charge sheet. To which, the actor replied that he hopes she gets out of trouble very soon.

‘I don't think this is affecting the image of the country. In fact, in our film fraternity, there have been fewer tax raids. Everyone is working with full honesty. I don't think it will affect the industry. Higher taxpayers are from this industry,’ he said.
