Israel’s Counsel General Kobb Shoshani meets ‘The Kashmir Files’ actor Anupam Kher

Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ made headlines after IFFI jury chief Nadav Lapid called the film ‘vulgar propaganda’. Anupam Kher, who played a pivotal role in the film, condemned Lapid’s remark. Later, he also took to social media to share a video of his interaction with the Israeli Consul General Kobb Shoshani.

‘Thank you dearest @KobbiShoshani, Counsel General of #Israel in Mumbai for visiting my school @actorprepares. Our friendship is too strong to get affected by an individual’s vulgar remark at @iffi. But I really appreciate your gesture, generosity and kindness,’ he tweeted.

In the video, the Consul General apologised to his friend Anupam Kher on behalf of the government of Israel about the remarks made by Lapid and said they have nothing to do with the Israeli government and ‘belongs to a minority’.

Nadav Lapid said ‘The Kashmir Files’ is ‘inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival’ at the closing ceremony of IFFI 2022. The Vivek Agnihotri directorial is based on the exodus and killing of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley in 1990s. It emerged as one of the biggest box-office successes in India this year.
