Imtiaz Ali's 'Rockstar' turns 10, we look back at the film's best moments

It was a story of love, passion, angst, obsession, with the crown jewel of a soundtrack by A.R. Rahman, which only got better over the next few years, making it to every fan's go to playlist.

Fans knew that the film would be on the journey of a singer, so expectations from this album were massive. But the magic of AR Rahman took the soundtrack to a whole other level.

Songs in 'Rochstar' captures a multitude of emotions with the sheer power of music and some exceptional vocals.

‘Jo Bhi Main’, ‘PhirSe Ud Chala’ and ‘Nadaan Parindey’ is quintessiontially in Imtiaz Ali territory- where Jordan is questioning his existence, his self-worth and reflecting on his karma.

‘Tum Ho’ and ‘Tum Ko’ help Jordan find solace and do lot of soul searching. With these tracks, Rahman helps you feel you less burdened.

‘Katiya Karun’, ‘Haawa Haawa’ and ‘SheherMain’ bring out the spunk and naughty side of Jordan before all hell broke loose.

'Rockstar' was the last film of the living legend Shammi Kapoor. He played Ustad Jameel Khan, a mentor to Jordan, who introduced him to the dichotomy of fame.

Their first meeting was very casual as Ranbir does not take the shehnai seriously, but Jordan starts to transform, tasting isolation for the first time, while playing along with Shaami Kapoor.

'Rockstar' and the journey of looking inwards

A lot of Imtiaz Ali's film was shot at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah in the heart of Delhi.

With Sufism being a huge influence on Jordan's music, the film took Ranbir's character on a journey to find himself first, and detach the self from the idea of fame.

The famous Qawwali 'Kun Faya Kun' was performed at the dargah itself, which also features the Nizami brothers.
