Happy Birthday, Zeenat Aman: Some of her most iconic roles

Zeenat Aman birthday : Zeenat Aman is one of the most outstanding actors in the film industry. She started her career as a model and at the age of 19, she went on to participate in beauty pageants, the Femina Miss India pageant, and the Miss Asia Pacific International, winning both.

She made her Bollywood debut in 1970, and since then she has appeared in over 80 movies. She impressed the audience with her performances and beauty.

On the occasion of Zeenat Aman’s birthday, here are a few of her best films.

Laawaris (1981)

Zeenat co-starred with Amitabh Bachchan, Amjad Khan, Rakhee Gulzar, and Ranjeet in the Prakash Mehra directorial. The film narrates the story of a man, who is abandoned as a baby. The orphan is raised by a drunkard. Years later, the man unknowingly gets employed by his biological father. Amitabh and Zeenat’s chemistry received a lot of praise from the audience and they are still considered one of the best on-screen couples.

Qurbani (1980)

The movie starred Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna, Amjad Khan, Kader Khan, and Zeenat Aman. Zeenat played a cabaret dancer and singer Sheela in this crime drama, which was directed by Feroz himself.

The film is about best friends, Amar and Rajesh, who unknowingly fall in love with the same woman. A vengeful enemy learns this truth and tries to wreak havoc in their lives. The songs from the film were super hits which include the iconic ‘Laila O Laila’, featuring Zeenat as the lead.

Don (1978)

This is one of the most legendary gangster films. It starred Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Pran, Iftekhar, and Om Shivpuri. Zeenat featured as Roma, a girl who plots revenge against Don for her sister’s murder. The Chandra Barot directorial was remade in 2006 with the same title. Shah Rukh Khan played the titular role in the film and Priyanka Chopra Jonas starred as Roma.

Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978)

Zeenat played the role of a village girl Roopa, who had a partially burnt face, in this Raj Kapoor directorial. She falls in love with Rajeev, an engineer, and tries to hide the fact that half of her face is disfigured. However, after marriage, he discovers her secret and begins to ignore her. The movie was slammed for excessive exposure but later, it went on to be considered as an artwork.

Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971)

Zeenat Aman co-starred with Dev Anand in this musical drama. The film revolves around Prashant Jaiswal who travels to Kathmandu to find his long-lost sister, Jasbir Jaiswal, played by Zeenat. The film was directed and written by Dev Anand himself. The movie also starred Mumtaz, Prem Chopra, and Sudhir among others. The film’s track ‘Dum Maro Dum’ is one of the iconic songs.
