'Brahmastra', starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, is performing well at the box-office. The film received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience. The one aspect where the film has faced major criticism from the audience is the weak writing of dialogues.

Now, Ayan Mukerji has reacted to the scrutiny and criticism in a recent interview. Speaking with Indian Express, Ayan said, 'I thought this would give the film a soul. That the greatest energy comes from within you and the greatest form of energy is when you are in a state of love. It may have sounded better on paper than it came across to certain people.'

The filmmaker further gave the example of his film's hit song 'Kesariya' and mentioned how it was criticised for the 'love storiyan' bit. He stated that 48 hours after the release of the track, people started enjoying the song and no one talks about it today.

'So, point noted. But India has a diverse audience,' he told Indian Express.

'Brahmastra' released in theatres on September 9. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna in pivotal roles.
