Ayushmann Khurrana addresses reports of him replacing Ranbir Kapoor in Sourav Ganguly biopic

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who is currently basking in the success of his latest film ‘Dream Girl 2’, has reacted to rumours of him potentially playing Sourav Ganguly in the legendary cricketer’s biopic.

Earlier, it was reported that Ranbir Kapoor will star in the biopic. Now, in a recent interview, Ayushmann neither confirmed nor denied the report.

When questioned about the Sourav Ganguly biopic rumours, Ayushmann told Pinkvilla, ‘I’m not saying anything right now. We have to make an official announcement whenever and whatever that happens.’

When asked about the possibility of ‘Dream Girl 3’, Ayushmann said, ‘I don’t know, you will have to ask Raaj Shaandilyaa (director of Dream Girl and Dream Girl 2). If he comes up with an equally outrageous idea like Dream Girl and Dream Girl 2, we should definitely go for it. And if it has crazy laugh out moments and great gags, then why not? It is a front bencher massy film and once in a while you will see me in that avatar along with my core genre.’

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Dream Girl 2’ has earned Rs 91.43 crore since its release. The film, which is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster ‘Dream Girl’, features a star-studded cast, including Paresh Rawal, Manjot Singh, Seema Pahwa, Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Abhishek Banerjee, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, and Manoj Joshi.
