'Atrangi Re' becomes the most-watched film on release day, beats beats 'Laxmii', 'Hungama 2'

Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush-starrer 'Atrangi Re' released on December 24, and has delivered the biggest opening day on Disney+ Hotstar, shattering all records. It even managed to beat big films like 'Hungama 2' and 'Laxmii'.

In 'Atrangi Re', Sara Ali Khan is forcefully married to Dhanush at the beginning. Akshay Kumar gets to play a larger-than-life character and his entry scene has definitely impressed audiences.
Touted to be a musical drama, the film has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape Of Good Films.

Earlier, various big-budget films including Akshay Kumar's 'Laxmii' and Shilpa Shetty's 'Hungama 2' also had OTT releases on Disney+Hotstar during the pandemic, but Aanand L Rai's film seems to have beaten them both.
