Actor Amitabh Bachchan praised former Indian cricketer and captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Big B revealed the hardships the cricketer faced and how his strong determination helped him overcome obstacles.

In a new promo of the latest episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 14’, the veteran actor recalled Mansoor's accident in which he almost lost sight in one of his eyes. He further added that through his fighting spirit he became the youngest captain of the Indian cricket team just after six months after the accident.

In the clip, Amitabh Bachchan said, ‘I would tell you about an Indian cricketer who lost one eye in an accident. He had difficulty driving a car and even pouring himself a glass of water. While facing these difficulties, he thought that this would be the end of his cricketing career. But he challenged his situation, game, and mainly his thoughts and made himself so capable, that he could play cricket again.’

He further added, ‘The result of this was that just six months after the accident, he became the youngest captain of the cricket team. Under his captaincy, he got India to score its first test victory on international grounds. That cricketer was Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. He told the world that if you can see your goal clearly, then there’s no might in the world that will keep you away from your ambition.’

In July 1961, Mansoor was traveling in a car that got in an accident in Hove and a shard of glass damaged his right eye. Apart from being the youngest Indian Test captain, he was also the third youngest International Test captain worldwide.

Mansoor Ali Khan, nicknamed ‘Tiger Pataudi’ tied the knot with actor Sharmila Tagore in 1968. Tiger's father was Iftikar Ali Khan Pataudi who played Test cricket for England and India. The couple has three children, actors Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan, and Saba Pataudi. Saif is married to actor Kareena Kapoor and Soha is married to actor Kunal Kemmu.
