Alia Bhatt's spy universe film titled 'Alpha'; filming commences | Watch

Actor Alia Bhatt took to social media to reveal that her upcoming Spy Universe film is titled ‘Alpha.’ She shared a video announcing the start of the shoot.

The clip showed ‘Alpha’ written on it as Alia’s voiceover said, ‘Greek alphabet ka sabse pehle akshar aur hamare program ka motto. Sabse pehle, sabse tez, sabse veer. Dhyaan se dekho toh har shahar mein ek jungle hai aur har jungle mein raaj karega ek Alpha (The first alphabet of the Greek language and our motto – first, fastest and courageous. If you see, every city is a jungle and every jungle is ruled by an Alpha)’.

The movie, directed by Shiv Rawail, also stars Sharvari Wagh in a key role.

Alia Bhatt's announcement video has sparked excitement among netizens for the film. Fans flooded the comments, expressing their eagerness for its release.

‘You go girlsss,’ one of the fans wrote. ‘Aaagh! Screaming my aloo,’ added another. ‘Alreadyyy so exciteddd!!!!!’ a third comment read.

Earlier this year, Yash Raj Films' CEO Akshaye Widhani confirmed Alia Bhatt's standalone film in the YRF Spy Universe. He emphasized its importance as a prized IP and hinted at more spy universe films in the pipeline.

‘As one of the most prized IPs, we take a lot of pride in it. So there’s a lot of stuff that’s going to come in the spy universe. We’re going to see more and more films getting made under it. But, of course, not going to share everything here. We will talk about it at a more opportune time. For now, I can say that Alia Bhatt is headlining a spy universe film,’ he said.

Over time, YRF has solidified its Spy Universe in Bollywood. Prior to Alia and Sharvari, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone featured in YRF Spy Universe projects. Katrina portrayed ISI agent Zoya in the acclaimed Tiger series, while Deepika played ISI spy Rubina in the Shah Rukh Khan-led Pathaan. Kiara Advani has also recently joined the Spy Universe, set to appear in War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
