Ajay Devgn & Tabu starrer ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ gets a new release date; deets inside

‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’, featuring Ajay Devgn and Tabu in lead roles, has a new release date. The Neeraj Pandey directorial was earlier scheduled to arrive on July 5 and was postponed just a few days ahead of the slated release date.

Ajay Devgn and Tabu announced the new release date in a joint post on Instagram. They shared a new poster with the new date mentioned on it and wrote, “The wait ends on 2nd August.”

Delayed due to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ storm

The film was supposed to release on July 5, however the release date was pushed ahead due to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic is having a blockbuster run in theatres and has crossed Rs 800 crore worldwide. Makers feared a clash as ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ released just a week ahead of their film’s scheduled release date.

How safe is the new date?

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ released on June 27 and continues to have a successful run in theatres. With mostly positive reviews, the word of mouth might help the film to sustain for few more weeks. However, it is not the only worry for ‘Auron Mein Kahan Hum Tha’. Despite finding a safe window, the film will have to face a tough competition from ‘Stree 2’, ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’.

'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' marks Ajay and Tabu’s tenth collaboration, eagerly awaited by fans anticipating their portrayal as lovers. Director Neeraj Pandey revealed his initial inspiration for the film, stating, ‘Two years ago, the idea for this film struck me. Ajay and Tabu were my immediate choices.’ He emphasized that while he wasn’t aware of their off-screen bond, he believed they were ideal for the roles.

The film narrates an epic love story depicting Krishna and Vasudha, whose relationship faces severe challenges leading to separation after Krishna commits multiple murders and receives a life sentence. Their poignant reunion after 22 years forms the heart of the movie.
