‘Adipurush’: Prabhas, Kriti Sanon starrer may be postponed to April 2023

Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Adipurush’ faced massive backlash after the release of its teaser. Now, latest reports suggest that the makers of the film are planning to push its release date to April next year. The film was initially scheduled to release in theatres on January 12, 2023.

A report by Track Tollywood suggests that ‘Adipurush’ may be released later as Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veeraya’ and NBK’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ will release in theatres around the same time. Also, ‘Varisu’ starring Vijay will be released on Makar Sankranthi and the makers recently confirmed the same by revealing a new poster of the forthcoming film.

Though there is no confirmation from the makers yet, but the official statement is expected to be out soon. Trade expert and producer Girish Johar wrote in a tweet, ‘Strrrrrrong #TradeBuzz or inside rumour that #Adipurush bows out of its plans of being a Sankranti release. Now they are planning for mid Summer 2023 release.’

‘Adipurush’ teaser was criticised by many fans for its poor VFX, and the costumes and look of Hindu deities. Though it faced several criticisms, son of Ramanand Sagar’s son Prem Sagar came out in support of the film.

‘Adipurush’ is a modern day adaptation of ‘Ramayana’ that features Prabhas as Lord Ram.
